US Senator Gary Peters stated the country needs a solution to the Coronavirus and needs it soon.
Standing in front of the Goodison Cider Mill in Rochester, Peters applauded the effort of family and friends to help him win re-election. Peter’s says now his attention is turning back to work in the Senate to see the number one priority of the country is to to get through this pandemic.
“Nothing is more important for our country right now or for the people of the state of Michigan, is to get through the pandemic. We’ve got to have a national strategy.”
Peters outlined several other priorities including a covid relief package for individuals and small businesses. Part of that includes improving access to health care. Peters says he believes that is a basic right. He says health care needs to be accessible and affordable.
When it comes to Michigan, Peters says more must be done to protect the Great Lakes. He also cited the need to improve mental health care for veterans.
Peters was asked for his response to his opponents claim that voter fraud was committed in Wayne County. Peters called the allegations “sad” and “pathetic.” Lawyers for the John James campaign released a statement saying they plan to ask for an investigation saying voters were cheated out of a “fair” election process.
