April 13th, 2010 - December 27th, 2010 - Family Connection Support Group

Pine Rest offers a support group, The Family Connection, for spouses, parents, siblings, and other caregivers who need help to more effectively deal with the stresses created by the symptoms and behaviors of family members diagnosed with a mental illness. Knowing how to help a loved one in their struggle with depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or anxiety disorders can be very difficult. The Family Connection is lead by Clinical Social Worker, Jim Vander May, LMSW. Among other topics, Vander May specializes in helping individuals cope with chronic mental illness, mood disorders, anxiety, and managing parent/child conflicts. The Family Connection is held every second and fourth Monday of the month from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., at the Pine Rest Southwest Clinic, 4211 Parkway Place, Suite 100, Grandville. Registration is appreciated for first time visitors. Please register by calling the Southwest Clinic at (616) 222-3700. Support group attendance is free, although donations are accepted.
