Christmas Sugar Cookies

I like to frost these cookies with regular cake frosting from the store and then put sprinkles on them. :-)

Ingredients:

1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
2-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
granulated sugar

Instructions:

Thoroughly mix butter, powedered sugar, egg, vanill, and almond extract. Blend in flour, soda, and cream of tartar. Cover and chill 2-3 hours. Heat oven to 375F. Divide dough in half. Roll each half 3/16" thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until light brown on edge.
