A zesty alternative for your Christmas table, or throughout the year.
2 loaves Italian bread
1/2 cup butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp. thyme
1/4 c. sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 450F. Cut the bread into slices 1-inch thick.
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add garlic and thyme and cook gently 3 to 5 minutes (don't burn). Stir in the seeds.
Spread both sides of bread slices with butter-seed mixture, using a pastry brush. Heat in the oven for 5 to 8 minutes, until crisp and bubbling. Turn over once halfway through, if desired.
