Soccer player, 13, drowns at end-of-season party

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) — A 13-year-old boy has drowned in Lake Michigan during a celebration of his soccer team's season. the group was at a private home in the Grand Haven area.
The Ottawa County sheriff's department identifies the victim as Christian Ouding. It says the boy's father saw him struggling in the water at the beach in Grand Haven on Friday but was unable to reach him before he went under.
The boy was under water about 30 minutes and was unresponsive when he was pulled out.
A medical examiner says he drowned.
Team president Chip Hoebeke says Christian was an outstanding player.
