Love for Christ Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Oh how beautiful is the love of Christ. In our finiteness, we will never be able to fully understand how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. But this Christmas season as you gather with neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family, it is possible together, to experience glimpses of this love that is rooted and established in Christ. As you watch the snow gently fall and the sun peaking through the winter clouds, see your neighbor snowplowing the neighborhood sidewalk, or as you open that surprise Christmas gift from your co-worker, take a moment to realize these small acts of love. God loves us so much that he blesses us with seasons, colors, weather. He nudges that one person to plow one more driveway and gives us small blessings from the most unexpected people in our loves. These are all kind, compassionate, merciful acts of love that are small glimpses into the kind of love Jesus gives us everyday. They will never compare to the width, depth, or height of God’s love for us but they draw us closer in and allow us to experience a taste. As you sit at dinner tables and gather around Christmas trees, take a moment to be still and thank God for a love that sent his Son into the world for you. Oh what a gift it is to experience his love this holiday season. Challenge: 1- Take time whether that’s when driving to grandma’s house or cooking Christmas dinner to reflect on God’s love and praise Him for it! 2- How can you share God’s love this holiday season?

He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.
