He Reigns Right Now

This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." — Luke 2:12-14 Don’t you hate it when you’ve been spending the entire day looking for something all over the house and suddenly you look up and whoop, there it is, smack dab in front of you the whole time? You feel kinda silly, like, “Why didn’t I see that? It was literally right there. What a waste of time!” We kind of do this all the time when we forget that we hold the antidote for anxiety. Anxiety is one of the world’s biggest mental health epidemics, and when left untreated can and often does add an array of physical health issues. Thankfully, counseling and medicine are now more widely pursued for treatment. However, there is one source of help that is often overlooked but powerfully effective. Long ago, a solution was prophesied about in Isaiah 9; the prophecy about a child who would be born and would be known as the Prince of Peace. Then, In the New Testament we see that prophecy fulfilled as the child HAS been born and is here to remind us that Peace has come to earth. He met us here and is STILL available for ALL now. The solution to fear, worry, and doubt has not passed you by. Peace is right in front of you, just look up. You might think, that’s all well and good for our eternal future, but what about right now? There are real concerns that incite fear and insecurity. We’ve got bills that must somehow get paid. There are sicknesses that we cannot stop. The world is messy and getting worse. The evil is overwhelming and let’s face it, it is scary. We know that Jesus will deliver us into eternal peace one day, but we’re living in the thick of chaos right now. The solution is here, right in front of you, available NOW, and his name is Jesus. The Prince of Peace lives in those who invite Him in. He can save you from your day to day battles when you call on Him just like He has saved you from the ultimate penalty of sin through His sacrifice on the cross. What JOY that brings to the hearts who believe. Rejoice today in the Peace you have through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, knowing that HE reigns over all chaos right now and forevermore!
