02/06/25 - WCSG'S Travelin' Together - Holland On Ice

Posted by: Joel Hill | Thursday, February 6th, 2025 ( 2:26pm)
Winter isn’t over and that means plenty of chilly activities in Holland this weekend. Our WCSG’s Travelin’ Together takes us to the lakeshore for the LG Energy Solutions Holland on Ice. The annual winter festival starts with ice sculpting along the main street in Holland. Businesses have commissioned sculptures to carve out detailed designs from over 10-thousand pounds of ice. The sculptures will be on display starting on Friday, and live carving will take place Friday and Saturday. If you want to be a little more involved, there’s the Snowmelt 5K and the Mini-Melt Fun Run for the kids. The Saturday morning 5K is a chance to try out the snowmelt system installed on the downtown route. Advanced registration is required for both events. And if that’s too much activity, there’s always the exciting shopping available as stores are planning to clear out the winter items to make way for spring. You can learn more about all these events and more by visiting Holland On Ice. Want to continue learning about fun places and activities to check out across West Michigan? Subscribe to WCSG's Travelin' Together series and we'll drop you an email with the latest family-friendly destination each week!
