Getting to see the Fall Colors doesn’t mean you have to ride around in the car for hours. Our WCSG’s Travelin’ Together highlights a unique way to get closer to nature. Vibrant color changes are underway in north-central Michigan and with a short drive, you can be right in the middle of them. But that also doesn’t mean you have to stay in the car. The 3,500-acre Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area near Ludington offers an exciting experience of hiking trails to get even closer to the color changes. Offering approximately 10-miles of trails accessed from two developed trailheads – The Nurnberg Road and the Lake Michigan Recreation Area, you can get even closer to nature. You can even bring along your favorite fur-baby to add enjoyment to the adventure. And when you’re finished with the trails and you don’t want to stay, you’re not far away from Manistee or Ludington. For more information, visit Nordhouse.
