Your Family Friendly Afternoon Show with Don & Steve

About Don

I was raised in the small town of Gladwin, Michigan. I met my wife Monica in September of our senior year of high school, and we were married the following November (at the tender age of 18). Our family moved around a bit, heading to Grand Rapids where I attended Cornerstone University, later moving to Canada for Toronto Baptist Seminary, and then to San Jose, California to pastor a church in the Bay area. We moved back to Grand Rapids in 1998 and have stayed put since then. We have four adult children and 13 grandchildren who all live nearby.

I began with WCSG back in 1990 -- first in the news department, then hosting afternoons from 1991 to 1993. Upon my return to Grand Rapids and WCSG, I hosted mornings for 6 years and am now in my 9th year on afternoons. I presently co-host "Your Family Friendly Afternoon Show" with Steve weekdays from 3 until 7. Thanks so much for listening, and for your support of WCSG!

About Steve

I was born near St. Louis, Missouri into a family that, while not perfect, did make Jesus Christ central and taught me a Biblical view of the world. By my early teens, we had moved to Pennsylvania and I was listening to a lot of radio – I didn’t realize it at the time, but it seems God was preparing me for my future with WCSG. In the late 1980s I moved to Grand Rapids to go to college and wound up as a student worker at WCSG covering weekend overnights. In 2000, after some years out-of-state exploring another field of work, God led me back to West Michigan to work for a ministry producing radio drama. At the same time, I had the opportunity to fill in various shifts on WCSG. It was while filling in on evenings in 2011 that God provided the opportunity to make that a permanent post.

My wife Kelli and I have been married almost 20 years and we have 4 boys who keep life very interesting!
