A musical produced by a new local theater group. ​Godspell is a modern adaptation of the Gospel of Matthew, following the life of Jesus through His parables, and ending in the classic passion narrative. The script is comprised of excerpts from the Gospel of Matthew paired with moments for improvisation in the telling of the parables, with the music being largely recomposed hymns or passages of Scripture.
Our production will be set in a subway station in the modern day. Here we will see people from every walk of life be confronted with the radical nature of Jesus and the choice to embrace or reject Him.
