Chocolate Chip-Frosted Flake Cookies


1 c Sugar
1 ½ Sticks margarine, softened
½ t Salt
1 t almond extract (can substitute vanilla)
1 t White vinegar
1 t Baking soda
1 ½ c Flour
2 c Frosted flakes, crushed
1 pkg Semi-sweet chocolate chips


Cream sugar and margarine. Add salt, extract, vinegar and baking soda. Mix in flour, flakes and chips. (Dough will be fairly dry – that's good!) Using your hands, form dough into balls about ping-pong ball sized. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Slightly press down top of dough balls with fork. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for only about 2 minutes, then immediately transfer to a cooling rack. (Let them sit on the sheet for too long and they'll stick really bad. Trust me, I know this)

Note: These cookies don't brown up like other recipes – do not wait for them to get "golden" because that will be too late, they'll taste burnt!
