We take a look at candidates and proposals you'll see on the November 8th ballot.
WCSG News is taking a look at candidates and proposals as we near the November 8th election. Today we examine the candidates for Governor.
Current Governor Gretchen Whitmer has held the post since 2018. Before that she served in both the Michigan House and Senate. Her administration touts the creation of 25-thousand new auto jobs and the first new auto plant in Detroit in nearly 30 years. She also looks to bi-partisan accomplishments in securing funding for K-12 education as well as fixing 13,000 lane miles of roads and more than 900 bridges.
Challenging Whitmer is Republican Tudor Dixon. Dixon has built a career in the steel industry, including serving as Chairwoman of the Steel Founders Society of America Future Leaders Committee. Dixon has also been involved in the creation of Lumen News, a conservative news service. Dixon has made the economy, school choice, and reforming Michigan elections as major campaign issues.
