Southwest Airlines canceled more than 15,000 of their flights over the holiday period and now is working to make things right.
— Southwest Airlines continues to apologize for the cancelations and delays in service over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
CEO Bob Jordan says, "I know that no amount of apologies can undo your experience."
More than 15,000 of their flights were canceled between Dec. 22 and Dec. 30, according to FlightAware.
Southwest Airline says they are working to process refunds, return lost bags and handle requests for reimbursement costs by stranded travelers.
The airline is also offering 25,000 frequent-flyer points, which are worth more than $300 in flights. They will be offered to travelers who were significantly delayed or had their flight canceled.
The flight disruptions began with a winter storm . Other airlines recovered after a couple days but Southwest continued to struggle.
