Still no word on an opening date for the student debt relief applications.
-The Biden administration filed its first legal defense of the President's student debt relief plan.
This is in response to lawsuits that are seeking to stop the student loan forgiveness plan.
They say the President overstepped his executive powers and that debt forgiveness would negatively affect the states financially.
No word yet if there is a planned or tentative opening date for the debt relief application.
President Biden announced earlier this summer that his plan is to forgive $10,000 of student loan debt for most borrowers earning less than $125,000 individually per year, or less than $250,000 for married couples. Students who received Pell Grants to go to college are eligible for up to $20,000 of federal debt relief.
