The Zoo is unveiling a 10 year master plan to add more to their visitor experience.
A West Michigan zoo has grand plans for their next decade.
John Ball Zoo leaders say they want to deliver an unparalleled visitor experience, and to do that, they need to change a few things at the zoo.
Leaders say the plan incorporates best practices, along with a response to the needs and desires of the West Michigan public.
"This plan serves as a roadmap and outlines the general direction of John Ball Zoo throughout the next decade to keep the Zoo as a treasured resource for West Michigan well into the future." according to a statement online by the zoo.
That will also include expanding educational and conservation facilities, programs, and story-telling
On Tuesday, leaders unveiled their 10-year master plan at the first of four community meetings. The plans include a feeding area for giraffes, an indoor South American forest, an underwater viewing area for sea lions, and a roof-top cafe.
Three more meetings are scheduled this week, including two on Wednesday. One at the North Kent County Campus in Cedar Springs and the other at the John Ball Zoo itself.
