A deadly school shooting near Detroit, claims the life of 3 students and injuries several others.
If was just before 1pm, Tuesday afternoon that a High School student fired shots inside Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan.
Around a hundred calls came into 9-1-1 dispatch and police arrived within 5 minutes and took the 15-year-old suspect into custody.
Police say it appears the student who fired the shots was using a pistol that was bought by his father on Black Friday.
As a result of the shooting, 3 students died ( one 16-year-old boy and a 14 and 17 year-old girl), while 8 others were injured, including a teacher. Three of the injured were reported to be in critical condition.
Governor Whitmer made her way to Oxford yesterday and ordered that our flags in Michigan be lowered to half-staff to honor and remember the victims of the shooting.
A candle light prayer vigil was held last night at Kensington Church in Lake Orion. The church is also partnering with others to help support the grieving.
Police say they did not have any early indication or warning of the shooting or that there could be trouble at the High School that day.
