A large winter-like storm system will move across the United States this week bringing with it heavy rain, snow, strong winds and hail.

A storm system that brought heavy rain and snow to California over the weekend will continue to move to the east. The southern part of California received some 7 inches of rain, while the northern part of the state saw up to 5 feet of snow.
Blizzard or winter storm warnings were in effect for parts of Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska.
Parts of Kansas, Oklahoma and northern Texas could see thunderstorms and the possibility of hail and isolated tornadoes Monday and then it will target Missouri and Arkansas.
Parts of the MidWest could see the storm develop into a winter storm from the Plains to the Midwest by Wednesday.
Severe thunderstorms will strike the South midweek.
Thousands of flights will be canceled or delayed this week due to this storm system.
