Tributes continue to remember the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter. President Joe Biden stating the world is feeling the loss.
“What I find extraordinary about Jimmy Carter though, (is that) many people all around the world, all over the world, feel they lost a friend as well, even though they never met him. And that’s because Jimmy Carter lived a life measured not by words but by his deeds.”
Carter left the presidency and returned to Georgia where he remained active in humanitarian causes, most notably Habitat for Humanity.
President Elect Donald Trump also issuing a statement saying that Carter assumed the presidency at a pivotal point in American history and that we owe him a debt of thanks for his efforts.
He is fondly remembered for his support of sports teams in Georgia. The Atlanta Falcons holding a moment of silence to remember him during their game last night. The Atlanta Braves also issuing a statement.
“While the world knew him as a remarkable humanitarian and peacemaker, we knew him as a dedicated Braves fan, and we’ll miss having him in the stands.”
The Atlanta Hawks are taking time to pass along condolences to the family and to their community. Carten often attended Hawk games when his wife Rosalynn was alive.

A state funeral will be held on January 9th in Washington D.C. Carter will then be buried in Plains, Georgia, next to his wife Rosalynn.
