While the loss of power to our homes can be frustrating and troublesome, they don't need to be any more of a problem than they are. These tips can help you before, during, and after a power outage.

Consumers Energy says crews are positioned in the event of power loss that could come as a result of the freezing rain that’s likely with this storm.

Consumers is also recommending that you have an emergency preparedness kit ready. That would include a flashlight, blankets, food and water as well as a first aid kit, just in case.

The American Red Cross has a list of things to do before, during and after power outages. They also have a list of items to including your emergency preparedness kit. You can download that list HERE, just to be safe.
