Gov. Whitmer comes to Grand Rapids to promote her Pre-K For All initiative.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer stopped in Grand Rapids on Monday to promote her "Pre-K for All" initiative that she spoke about in her State of the State address.
The Governor visited Burton Elementary School and was joined by Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten and Rep. John Fitzgerald.
The Governor said funding for the proposal was received two years early. She said Michigan is in a good spot to fund the initiative.
During the State of the State address, Governor Whitmer also proposed to offer free tuition for the first two years of community college to all high school graduates in Michigan.
Gov. Whitmer plans to reveal her state budget proposal tomorrow.
