Those traveling for Spring Break could run into some severe weather, especially in the South this week.
(The Weather Channel) - Another multi-day severe weather outbreak will impact parts of the central, southern and eastern U.S. this week.
The highest risk for severe weather for today will be in the Deep South. States such as Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama could see flash flooding, significant winds and the possibility of tornadoes. That same area was hit with bad weather last week.
This is a long extensive storm system that will impact parts of Texas up through Illinois.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch until 1 p.m. CDT from south-central Missouri into much of Arkansas, northern Louisiana, far northeast Texas and far southeast Oklahoma.
Damage has been reported from a likely tornado earlier this morning in Springdale, Arkansas.
There could be a continuation of severe storms from this system in the East on Thursday.
Damaging wind gusts would be the primary concern from any severe storms that develop from portions of the mid-Atlantic into the Southeast. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
The threat of severe weather from this storm will be over by Friday.
