There is a "Fire Weather Watch". The warm dry weather in Michigan has elevated potential fire dangers in parts of the state.
(Michigan) - A red flag warning for fire danger has been issued for much of Michigan.
The National Weather Service says the forecast is for strong winds, lower humidity and warmer temperatures this week and that has resulted in critical fire weather conditions.
Because the fire danger is high, open debris burning is not permitted in many counties.
Fines can be issued and you would be liable for damages if a fire, that you started, went out of control.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resource's website will have more information on burning restrictions for specific areas across the state.
