Another shooting incident at a school, claims at least 21 lives .... this time in Uvalde, Texas.
UVALDE, Texas - An 18-year-old gunman wearing body armor, entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
At least 19 children and two adults lost their lives.
A U.S. Border Protection agent shot and killed the suspect.
A number of law enforcement officers that responded were also injured and are recovering.
Tuesday evening, the community gathered for a prayer vigil for the victims and their families.
Flags across the country have been lowered to half-staff in honor of the victims.
The Robb Elementary School is located in a heavily Latino town and the incident that took place Tuesday is considered to be the deadliest shooting at a U.S. grade school since the incident at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut back in 2012.
President Biden was notified of the shooting as he flew back from Asia. He then addressed the nation at the White House and called for more firearm restrictions. “God bless the loss of innocent life on this sad day,” Biden said at the conclusion of his remarks. “May the Lord be near the brokenhearted and save those crushed in spirit, because they’re going to need a lot of help.”
