A published report suggests the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn the Roe V. Wade abortion decision.
Politico released a document of a leaked Supreme Court initial majority draft that could overturn the Roe v. Wade decision on legalizing abortion.
After hearing that, protesters gathered at the Supreme Court in Washington, D. C. Monday night.
Politico says the draft is genuine. It appears that five justices would be voting to overturn Roe.
The final opinion has not been released and votes and language can change before opinions are formally released.
If it is overturned, that would leave the decision up to each state. Over 20 states are expected to ban abortions at this point.
In Michigan, Gov. Whitmer filed a lawsuit last month to make abortions legal and accessible.
The Supreme Court is considering a debate of a Mississippi law, that was passed in 2018, but so far has been blocked by a lawsuit that would ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
