Holland will welcome thousands of visitors over the next week as they celebrate their Dutch heritage and celebrate Tulip Time. Parades are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday.
(Holland, Mich.) - Since 1929, the city of Holland, Michigan has blossomed with literally hundreds of thousands of tulips — and an equal number of tulip-lovers who attend our annual Tulip Time Festival. The celebration is so much more than tulips… with national entertainment acts, events & activities for all ages, and some of the largest parades in Michigan.
Tulip Time celebrates tulips, Dutch heritage, and the Holland, Michigan community today. Throughout the last 94 years, millions of people have gathered to enjoy Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan. The festival is an eight-day experience like none other with over six million tulips blooming throughout the city and area attractions. Tulip Time has been heralded as the nation’s Best Flower Festival, America’s Best Small Town Festival and even the 2017 – 2018 Tulip Festival of the Year!
Celebrating their 94th year in 2023, Tulip Time has grown over the years to be so much more than a flower festival. Back in 1929, the City of Holland planted its first crop of 100,000 tulips and the overwhelming number of visitors over the years as the Festival took shape resulted in the addition of programs, pageantry, costumes, parades and the popular Dutch Dancers.
The festival kicks off this weekend with the carnival and Dutch dancing. Saturday will include the "Tulip Time Run", walking tours, an artisan market, quilt show, tall ship tours and other activities and events.
The parades this year will be held Thursday and then the big parade on Saturday, May 13.
