6/20/24 - Be Extra Careful Around Bicyclists....One Hurt Near Jenison

A Grandville man was airlifted to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Georgetown Township.

Ottawa County - A 59-year-old man from Grandville was riding his bicycle in Georgetown Township along Fillmore Street on Wednesday, when he was struck by a vehicle.

Police say a 39-year-old woman from Allendale was driving east on Fillmore near Grand River Park, when she crossed the center line on a curve and struck the man who was riding on the westbound shoulder.

The man was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

The at-fault driver also suffered some minor injuries.

The investigation into the crash continues.
