6/23/23 - Sounds Picked Up May Have Been "Catestrophic Implosion" of Missing Submersible.

The search for the missing vessel continued despite evidence it may have been lost on Sunday. Image from OceanGate corporation. 6/23/23.

Coast Guard and Navy continued search in the hope they were wrong about the sound.

Naval experts now believe there may have been signals of the destruction of the submersible that was lost near the wreckage of the Titanic. Sounds picked up on Sunday may have been the event that led to the loss of five people on board.

The vessel was almost to the spot where the Titanic is located when it lost contact with the support vessel. That may be the sound that was picked up by the Navy.

The Navy says at the time, the sounds were ‘not conclusive’ and that led them to continue the search.

Pieces of the submersible were located 16-hundred feet from the wreckage of the Titanic.

An investigation into how the implosion occurred is expected, but who will lead that investigation is not yet determined.

Five people were on board the vessel when it was lost, just one hour and 45 minutes into the voyage.
