VIRGINIA BEACH - Religious broadcaster, Pat Robertson, passed away this morning at his home in Virginia Beach. He was 93.                                No cause was given. He had suffered a stroke back in 2018.

Pat Robertson founded the Christian Broadcasting Network and hosted the 700 Club, he was a former Southern Baptist minister, was known for his conservative views, and even entered the race for President in 1988.

Robertson started the Christian Coalition in Chesapeake in 1989, saying it would further his campaign’s ideals. The coalition became a major political force in the 1990s, mobilizing conservative voters through grass-roots activities.

Among his other enterprises were Regent University, a Christian University in Virginia Beach with graduate programs and an accredited law school, and Operation Blessing, a global charity.
