The cost of a stamp will go up to 73 cents on Sunday.

(Positive Prep) - If you're running low on stamps, it might be a good idea to get them now. The US Postal Service (USPS) is planning another price hike, which will be the second increase in 2024. Starting Sunday, a first-class mail "Forever" stamp will cost 73 cents, up from the current price of 68 cents. There will be no increase in Post Office Box rental fees, and a 10 percent price reduction for postal insurance when mailing an item.

Stamps have seen several price increases recently. On January 22, 2023, the price was 63 cents, which rose to 66 cents last July, and then to 68 cents in January. The USPS stated that these new prices are necessary for the agency's financial stability,. Despite the increases, USPS maintains that their prices are still among the most affordable in the world.
