Bystanders help rescue a woman from Lake Michigan near Saugatuck.
(ALLEGAN COUNTY) - A 78-year-old out-of-state woman was pulled from Lake Michigan at Oval Beach near Saugatuck.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon just after 4:30 p.m. The woman apparently was on a kayak or paddleboard, when she suffered a medical emergency and fell into the water.
The sheriff's department said the woman was under water for around one to five minutes.
Those nearby were able to pull her out of the water and begin administering CPR. First responders arrived and were able to get a pulse and she was taken to a local hospital.
