The multi-Grammy winning artist was involved in a bicycle crash on Wednesday.
Christian music artist Amy Grant is recovering following a bicycle crash that resulted in her being hospitalized. Grant’s spokesperson says the 61-year-old musician was cycling with a friend when the accident occurred.
Grant was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Details of the crash are limited but spokespersons say the artist suffered multiple cuts and abrasions. It does not appear Grant was more seriously injured but doctors advised her remaining hospitalized for observations. Grant had surgery two years ago to repair a heart issue.
Grant was held overnight since Wednesday but is expected to be released before this weekend to recover at home.
"Thank you to all those offering prayers and well wishes for Amy after her bike crash [Wednesday]," the statement said. It continued: "She is expected to go home later this week where she will continue to heal."
