Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr. found guilty of conspiracy on several charges.
After a few hours of deliberation, two men were found guilty of conspiring to kidnap the governor as well as conspiracy to acquire a weapon of mass destruction.
Adam Fox and Barry Fox Jr. were in court and did not appear to show any emotion as the verdicts were read.
The two had also been tried earlier but a hung jury led to the second trial. Two other men were acquitted in the earlier trial.
The prosecution contended the pair were part of a group that wanted to not only kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer but also start off a second revolutionary war. Prosecutors relied on word from several individuals who were informants on the group. They had been with the men as they scouted out the Governor's vacation home and were plotting to use explosives to blow up a bridge in an effort to delay a law enforcement response to the crime.
Defense lawyers argued the pair were all talk and no action. They contend the defendants were entrapped by the informants who were looking for someone to blame and hand over to the FBI.
No word yet if defense lawyers plan an appeal.
Fox and Croft remain in custody following the ruling.
