Due to a number of operational issues, NASA will reschedule the launch of the Moon Rocket.
-The countdown for NASA's Artemis 1 Mission was put on hold after issues emerged. It was set to take place this morning at 8:33 EST from the Kennedy Space Center.
After months of testing, the engineers began fueling the Artemis moon rocket for blastoff.
Rain showers with lightning moved close to the launch pad, there was a hydrogen leak discovered as the fueling began, they had to trouble-shoot a communication glitch, a leak in thermal insulation and problems with an engine.
At least 100,000 visitors were expected to crowd areas around Kennedy Space Center for the mission.
The mission will send an unmanned capsule on a 42-day trip around the moon and help to provide data for preparing for missions aimed at enabling further human exploration of the moon.
The next flight window for the launch is Friday, if NASA determines the rocket is ready.
NASA is hoping for a manned orbit in 2024 and a possible moon landing in 2025 or 2026.
