The funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, will take place at Westminster Abbey, Monday, September 19.
-Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. She was 96 years old and had reigned for 70 years.
Her coffin arrived in the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh. There was a regal procession through the Scottish countryside on Sunday, with people lining the roads to say goodbye. Princess Anne, 72, traveled in a car behind the hearse for the journey. She was spotted sitting in the backseat alongside her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
The coffin will be flown to London on Tuesday and then be moved from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday to the Houses of Parliament to lie in state until a state funeral at Westminster Abbey, Monday, ,September 19.
President Biden has received an invitation to the funeral and plans to attend.
Throughout the week there will be many events and tributes taking place with people lining the streets to pay honor and catch a glimpse of the coffin. Flowers and signs of thanks have been posted throughout Europe.
