England's longest reigning monarch has passed away at the age of 96.
Queen Elizabeth the II has passed away.
Queen Elizabeth has been battling illnesses over the last few years and earlier today, members of the royal family were called to Scotland where she had been staying over the last few days.
A process will now begin with a formal announcement from the royal family, and then a time of mourning among the family. National ceremonies will get underway within a week.
Elizabeth has been in power for so long, she has seen 14 prime ministers, and 12 presidents during her lifetime.
Prince Charles will formally become king after an official announcement tomorrow.
Queen Elizabeth was 96 years old.
