A local group believes the city of Grand Rapids should keep looking for police chief candidates.
The city of Grand Rapids is looking for a new police chief.
They announced their 3 finalists for the job and then held an event last week which gave the public a chance to learn more about the 3 and ask questions.
This week the local NAACP branch formally requested that the city start over in their search.
They say there are red flags concerning all 3 of the candidates that were introduced to the public.
The organization also says residents should play a greater role in the screening and selection process.
