Hundreds of children and families will plant a pinwheel near the State Capitol today.
-The Children's Trust Fund within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is sponsoring its 14th annual Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Day Rally.
The rally encourages Michigan residents to do what they can to protect children from abuse and neglect.
It will culminate in the planting of pinwheels near the State Capitol.
The pinwheel is the national symbol of child abuse and neglect prevention.
Gov. Whitmer proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The rally will get underway, Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. on the East Steps of the State Capitol Building in Lansing.
