More jobs will be made available for Grand Rapids area students that are willing to work.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The City's GRow1000 program is back. applications to participate in the teen and young adult summer jobs program are available now for job seekers and the business sector.
In addition, Grow1,000 also announced that it has forged a new partnership with West Michigan Works! to leverage its decades-long expertise in connecting Michiganders with job opportunities and skill building resources.
City manager Mark Washington says, "This new partnership will support youth workers not only during their six-week summer experience, but they will also have opportunities to learn and work throughout the year and we're excited and grateful for that."
The groups are ready to employ hundreds more Grand Rapids residents ages 15 to 24 beginning June 20. GRow1000 will offer young people 120-hour work experiences over six weeks from June 20 through July 29.
Youth may apply at the West MI Works! website. Youth applications are due by Friday, May 20. Bus passes will be available as needed.
