In what appears to be an early morning drive-by shooting, a Gaines Township woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Kent County Sheriffs are searching for leads in what appears to be a drive by shooting this morning.
It happened around two this morning as families were asleep but were woken to sounds of shots fired in the area of 60th and Campus Park Drive near East Kentwood High School. Witnesses report hearing at least three gunshots.
A 56-year old woman was wounded and her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police say at least two cars were in the area at the time and its believed the shots were fired from one of the cars. No description was given of the vehicles. No word if the shooting is connected to another incident in the community.
