Bissell Pet Foundation will send a team to Maui to help with displaced animals.
The Bissell Pet Foundation of West Michigan is working to help identify pet remains and support surviving pets and families displaced by the fire in Maui.
The trained responders will have the proper equipment and attire as they take time and care as they go through the remains. They will go into the field and scan deceased and live pets and help find their families.
Other animal welfare groups from across the country are making their way to the island to help provide food and other needed supplies and will work with all types of animals.
There are many people that have been displaced by the fires and many have had to leave pets behind.
Those interested in helping can donate to the Bissell Pet Foundation or the Maui Humane Society.
