Governor Whitmer outlines the areas she sees as crucial to Michigan moving forward.
In a nod to Michigan residents dogged determination, Governor Whitmer outlined an agenda that focuses on the future.
"Today I want to answer one question, and that is "what's next? it's a question we love to ask in Michigan, it's in our DNA."
Whitmer says efforts to increase manufacturing jobs have born fruit in the state. Thousands of jobs have been created through battery manufacturing, the automotive industry, and the commercial industry. She cited SK Siltron making semi-conductor waffers in the Bay City area, as well as other companies making inroads in the state.
She says "We are focused on winning projects, investing in people, and revitalizing places. And the good news is we are seeing results."
Her plans also include improving access to affordable health care, lowering the costs of prescription drugs while improving research and development. The Governor is also focused on reaching a 100% clean energy initiative.
