Entering its' 23rd year, the Chrysanthemums & More exhibit is the largest of its kind in Michigan.
The Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park is hosting their annual Chrysanthemums and More exhibit, showcasing thousands of blossoms spread out over the 158 acres of the gardens. Steve LaWarre says this is the perfect time of year for the plant.
“Chrysanthemum, in order to flower, Chrysanthemums require short days, and long nights. So they just naturally begin to flower at this time of the year.”
LaWarre says combined with the autumn colors they are a perfect companion to the season.
“The yellows, the oranges, the purples, and the varieties that are available, (and) they are just a perfect plant for the fall season.”
A number of events will coincide with the exhibition. ‘Chrysanthemums and More’ runs from now through October 31.
