A number of West Michigan communities have special events & ceremonies planned to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11
Saturday, Sept. 11, marks the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people.
Communities across the nation will come together to remember and pay tribute to those victims, first responders and those who defend our freedoms.

-Fireworks, Sept. 10 at dusk on Bluestar Highway near Saugatuck
IONIA COUNTY
-Belding, 9/11 at 9 a.m. at the Belding Fire Dept.
KALAMAZOO COUNTY
-9/11 Memorial Stair climb, Sept. 11 8:30 am at Wings Event Center
-9/11 Commemorative Service , 11 a.m. at Bronson Park
-Parchment Library exhibit "The Day That Changed The World", during library hours until Sept. 30th
KENT COUNTY
-9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, Sept. 11 starting at 9 a.m. at LMCU Ball Park
-Lowell 9/11 memorial at the Lowell Public Library 9am-4pm
-Grand Rapids Day of Remembrance and Scout Salute, Sept. 11, 7am-8pm at Ford Presidential Museum
-Heart of West Michigan United Way Day of Service, Sept. 11, 10am-noon at Kroc Center
