The original plans have been slashed by half and campaign promises appear thin in the plan.

President Joe Biden’s spending plan was scaled back by half.  The plan still needs congressional approval, but Biden touted the benefits to several groups including seniors and their children.

"We're going to expand services for seniors so families can get help from well trained, well paid professionals to help them take care of their parents at home."

Part of the issue, according to Biden, is that families are struggling with taking care of aging parents while trying to care for their own children.  The new plan, however, does not affect prescription drug costs, and no expansion of Medicare coverage for dental or vision.

Within the scaled back economic plan proposed by the President, is a provision to help with childcare for American families.
"A typical family spends about 11-thousand dollars a year on child care.  In some states its' 14-thousand five hundred a year, per child.  We're going to make sure all families earning less than 300-thousand dollars a year, will pay no more than 7 percent of their income for child care."

Democrats have been reluctant to get behind the President saying they needed more details of the plan before offering any support.

President Biden met with House Democrats this morning before leaving for Europe, in order to support his scaled back spending plan.
Several key issues of the Presidents campaign have been cut from the plan including permanently extending the child tax credit, two years of free community college, and paid family leave.
