3/23/22 - Tornado Touches Down In New Orleans Area

At least one life lost after a tornado touches down in Louisiana.

The National Weather Service reported that a tornado touched down early Tuesday night causing damage in parts of New Orleans.

It appeared to have started in a New Orleans suburb and then move east across the Mississippi River into the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans and parts of St. Bernard Parish.

At least one death was reported while several others were injured.

Thousand of people have been left without power .

The Civic Center was set up to provide needed shelter and help with medical care.

The storms continue to move to the east and the threat of severe weather will impact parts of Alabama and the Florida Panhandle today.
