The streets of Muskegon will be filled will all things art this weekend. There's also special free or low-cost activities for kids and families.
The streets of Muskegon will be filled with art as the Lakeshore Art Festival gets underway this weekend.
Our WCSG’s Travelin’ Together highlights the event where some 250 juried fine art and craft makers will be on display Saturday and Sunday in the downtown area. The festival has roots going back to 1961 when Hackley Park was the site of the first Muskegon Art in the Park. Since 2013, the newly branded Lakeshore Art Festival has also made several transformations. There will be multiple interactive art stations, street performers, as well as an artisan food market.
This also marks the 10th Annual Children’s Lane, a space dedicated to providing free or low-cost, family friendly kids centered arts & crafts, education, and more. The festival is focusing on healthy living, so the Children’s Lane will also feature material on quality nutrition and the importance of staying active.
