The 8th annual event will include plenty of activities for families, as well as food tasting opportunities throughout the downtown area.
As fall is approaching, it’s a great time to celebrate West Michigan’s fruit harvest.
As part of our WCSG’s Travelin’ Together, we visit the community of Sparta as they celebrate the Michigan Apple Fest this weekend. Local restaurants will offer plenty of dishes featuring the fruit and apple cider from various farms will be available for tasting. There will be contests including apple pealing, apple pie baking, and even an apple slingshot. Kids' activities will be offered throughout the weekend, including pony rides, crafts, a petting zoo and a box train ride.
Throughout the weekend there will be live music and vendors showcasing homemade crafts, baked goods, and other items for sale. Fireworks will end activities on Friday. A lumberjack show and living statues will complete the festivities on Saturday.
