03/17/25 - Rockford's Wypych Named Miss Michigan Basketball

The senior guard from Rockford picked up a decisive number of votes to win the crown.

The 2025 Miss Michigan basketball title goes to Rockford Senior Guard Anna Wypych.

"Winning this title is not just about winning the trophy.It's about the support my teammates gave me, and the countless hours spent on the court. Wypych garnered 3,148 points in the coaches poll to take the title and 444 first-place votes, more than double any other candidate. 

She helped lead the Rams to a state championship, and is preparing to try for another this season.

Her coaches praised her for her toughness and consistent play.. Wypych credits her family for their unwavering support.Wypych has also been a force for good off the court. She volunteers in multiple capacities, including a reading program for elementary students, and organizing basketball camps and a league.

"I'm extremely grateful and extremely blessed and I hope that inspires the youth, to always work hard, cause in the end, it will pay off." says Wypych.

Wypych is averaging 22 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 4.5 steals on the season.She holds multiple records at the school for wins, points, points in a game, and assists. She plans to attend Butler University in the fall.
