Danish police say last known shooting took place in 2015.
A gunman shot and killed three people and wounded several others before being captured at a mall in the Danish capital.
Police report the shooting took place on a crowded Sunday. Two 17-year olds and a 47-year old were killed. At least four others had received gunshot wounds and others were being treated for minor injuries while attempting to flee the scene. Police say the mall was crowded and social media images show dozens of people running in multiple directions out of the building.
The unidentified shooter was apparently known to psychiatric professionals in the country, and police say there is no link, at this time, to any terrorist activity. He is only described as a 22-year old male. He had a rifle and a significant amount of ammunition.
Denmark has not had a mass shooting since 2015, when a gunman opened fire at a free speech conference.
